A long time ago, I took some pictures on Formula One racing for Town &
Country Magazine. These are a few of the unpublished photos.

The pro race photographers, no
fools they, go to the chicanes, where the cars are forced to slow down,
giving them a chance to shoot sharp pictures instead of blurred frames.
The race sponsors, also no fools, put their billboards there, forcing the
photographers to include their ads in the pictures. You can see the
resultant clutter in this picture.

This
is typical of my attempts to pan as a car rockets down one of the
straights.

Nikki
Lauda, Formula One driving champion in '75 and '77, was seriously
burned in a fiery crash while
driving for Ferrari in 1976 at Nuerburgring.
Despite this he was kind enough to sit unselfconsciously.
